DKDP electro-optic Q-switches (Q-switch,Pockels Cells) are widely used in large aperture, high power, narrow pulse width (<10ns) laser systems due to their unique physical properties and excellent optical quality. The DKDP crystal is a uniaxial crystal with excellent optical quality, with an extinction ratio> 2000:1 (measured using a 632nm He-Ne laser) and a wavefront distortion of 98%. DKDP electro-optic Q-switch capacitance is small (about 3-5pF), so the rise time is short (<0.5ns), and it can output pulse laser with narrow pulse width when Q is switched. Compared with the more widely used electro-optic crystals on the market, DKDP crystals have a higher damage threshold; under the optical conditions of pulse width 10ns, wavelength 1064nm, and repetition frequency 10Hz, the damage threshold is> 1GW/cm².
