Performance parameters:

CW operating mode:
A. measure the voltage Vb across the constant current source sampling resistor R7, Ibias = Vb÷ R7, adjust VR2 to the target output average optical power according to the corresponding relationship in fig. 2 and fig. 3, and check whether it meets the target value with an optical power meter, with the maximum Ibias = 0.75A.
B. according to the requirements of fig. 1, input the signal, connect the photodetector to the oscilloscope, and observe the quality of the light waveform. Adjust VR1 to change the power amplifier gain to the best waveform quality; adjust VR4 to change the power amplifier bias voltage, the higher the bias voltage, the greater the modulation current, the greater the waveform amplitude, the greater the extinction ratio. Maximum modulation current up to 1A. VR1 and VR4 are adjusted in combination to achieve optimum waveform quality and amplitude.
C. When the input signal is a bit stream, please pay attention to the encoding method. It is recommended that the number of consecutive codes is less than 7,8b/10b Encoding to ensure the minimum jitter performance. Transmission rate range: 155Mbps-622Mbps.
Pulse working mode:
A. measure the voltage Vb across the constant current source sampling resistor R7, Ibias = Vb÷ R7, adjust VR2 to the vicinity of QCL threshold according to the corresponding relationship in fig. 2 and fig. 3, and use an optical power meter to check whether the output optical power meets the definition of no light, with the maximum Ibias = 0.75A.
B. according to the requirements of fig. 1, input the signal, connect the photodetector to the oscilloscope, and observe the quality of the light waveform. Adjust VR1 to change the power amplifier gain to the best waveform quality; use an optical power meter to measure the output average optical power under different pulse widths and repetition frequencies, and adjust VR4 to change the power amplifier bias voltage. The higher the bias voltage, the greater the modulation current, the greater the waveform amplitude, the greater the extinction ratio, and the greater the output average optical power. Maximum modulation current up to 1A. VR1 and VR4 combine adjustments to achieve the best waveform quality, edge velocity, pulse amplitude, and output average optical power.
