BBO Pockels Box


Classification:

When a voltage is applied to the electrodes of the BBO electro-optic crystal, the BBO Pockels cell is used to change the polarization state of light passing through it. regular applications include Q-switching of laser cavities, laser cavity dumping and the formation of coupled light in regenerative amplifiers. Low-voltage electrical ringing makes the BBO Pockels box very attractive for the control of high-power, high-repetition-rate lasers. Fast-switching electronic drivers with properly matched batteries can be used for Q-switching, cavity dumping and other applications.

    The BBO Pockels box is a transverse field device. The 1/4 wave voltage is proportional to the ratio of the electrode spacing and the crystal length, so the aperture is small, the 1/4 wave voltage is low, and the double crystal design has a low 1/4 wave voltage, which is widely used in the half-wave operation mode with fast switching time..
